Theme: Biodiversity and conservation science, Environmental management, Geography, Zoology and wildlife biology

Description: Obviously a better name is required, but this project aims to investigate what contributes to koala carrying capacity across SEQ. Being a significant item both at State and Federal levels, koala carrying capacity remains a nefarious concept, so the student will derive an evidence - based formula to apply to sites in SEQ. This will be ground truthed by assessing contemporary data and possibly through limited surveys of test sites.

Additional Information: There are opportunities to work on current sites or develop new ones, and also this project has many spin offs if a student has lateral interests (e.g. conducting and testing accuracy of surveys, or applying survey data to conservation approaches.
