Using genomics to understand why males harm females

In many species, males have evolved behavioural strategies and specific traits to maximise their reproductive success.

Intriguingly, in some species these traits actually cause significant harm to females, reducing reproductive outputs and survival.

This project uses genomics and behavioural assays to detect the genes underlying these sexually antagonistic interactions and understand their evolutionary origins.
