The Marine Paleoecology Laboratory at UQ houses an extensive collection of reef sediment cores that have been extracted to address the long-term human impacts on the ecology of living coral reefs

Projects are available working on cores from the Great Barrier Reef, Palymra Atoll and coastal Palau.

You will learn how to identify corals to the genus level, and how to prepare specimens for radiometric age dating.
