Recent work has investigated some of the interactions in model systems of Brassica plants, lepidopteran defoliators and their parasitoids.

This has shown the very specific effects that different species have on the chemistry of their host plants and how this is used by both generalist and specialist natural enemies.

We offer several opportunities to investigate the chemical ecology of parasitoid-host-plant interactions.

Laboratory-based behavioral experiments will develop this understanding further.
