Sowthistle has recently developed resistance to glyphosate.

This project will investigate the connectivity of sowthistle populations (using population genetics), the evolution and spatial spread of resistance (how many times and in how many places resistance has evolved), and the outcrossing rate in this species.

You may also have opportunities to be involved in genomics/population genomics work on this species.

This project is conducted in collaboration with the Queensland Department of Agriculture, and is funded by the Cotton Research and Development Corporation (CRDC). Top-up scholarships may be available to competitive students.
