Ecological novelty in human-dominated marine ecosystems

Marine ecosystems are being transformed at an unprecedented rate due to human impacts, resulting in highly altered ecosystems and communities.  Projects are available to study the emergence and drivers of novel marine communities from both coral reefs and the marine plankton. These projects are macro-ecological studies using statistical models to quantify novelty from established databases.
