About Centre for Marine Science seminars

Postgraduate seminars are held monthly on Thursdays at 1pm, usually in the Goddard Building (Building 8), Room 257.  The location can vary, so check the event details for each seminar.

Postgraduate seminar sessions usually feature presentations from two PhD students.

Special seminars featuring visiting academics are held when available, usually on Thursdays at 1pm. The location can vary, so check the event details for each seminar.

Visiting marine academics and collaborators are welcome to give a seminar. We usually hold them on Thursdays at 1pm but will try to accommodate alternative days and times on request. If you're visiting UQ and wish to give a marine-related seminar, email us at or discuss your idea with your academic contact within our School.

Visit the School's main seminar page.

TalkFest, a one day mini-conference, is one of our premier events and is held twice a year on the Friday before each semester starts (February and July). Marine academic and postdoc researchers from UQ and external collaborators share their research, network and discuss collaborations. The event is free and breaks are catered. Check event details for the schedule of presentations and registration link at the start of the relevant month.
