Despite their size, remarkably little is known about the behaviour of minkes or their role in rapidly changing Antarctic ecosystems.

In the summers of 2018 and 2019, The University of Queensland's Jake Linksky and colleagues from Stanford University, UC Santa Cruz and Duke Marine Labs teamed up to study minke whale foraging ecology.
